I wanted to share a very true story with you as it has special meaning for me and my family.

My dad was a pastor in WA several years ago and acquired a love for huckleberry pie. Fast forward to 2013 and his retirement party from the pastoral ministry and his birthday. He had not had huckleberry pie since leaving WA. Having no idea how well huckleberries would travel, I took the chance and ordered from you (https://www.oregonmushrooms.com/receipt.aspx?ordernumber=114297) and surprised him with a huckleberry pie at the church party. I'm still hunting down the picture of him digging in. When I do, I will share it with you. He enjoyed that so much.

This past March, he was diagnosed with a degenerative neuromuscular disease which progressed more rapidly than his doctors would've ever forecasted. He started to have difficulty eating solid food, as was expected. Still, I placed another order (https://www.oregonmushrooms.com/receipt.aspx?ordernumber=126031) and made him another pie. He hadn't smiled from March until August when he dug into the pie and was able to swallow it with only some difficulty. It's amazing how something so simple can bring such happiness.

Early this morning, Dad passed away from complications (pneumonia). We are so happy he is no longer suffering with this. I got home to put something in the freezer and found the 2nd bag of huckleberries. I knew I had to reach out to you with this story. Thank you for being a part of making him happy. It was the best $150 I have ever spent...no, invested.

About a week ago, we ordered three pounds of Porcini. They had just come into early season. Everything went as perfect as one could hope. Fedex confirmed the desired delivery date and time, which was 10:30 AM. At that time, plus or minus 5 minutes, the Fedex van pulled into our driveway. This performance cannot be beat, I think. The quality of the mushrooms was excellent too, with many in the small to middle range which we prefer. We consumed the Porcini in four dishes, all ample. We enjoyed their freshness and feel privileged that, thanks to your firm, this incomparable delight can be savored on the East Coast.

I have been a customer of Oregon Mushrooms since 2014. I found them when I was searching to gift my parents, who lived six decades of their life in "mushroom country" and then moved to the California desert, with a unique present they would truly enjoy, and would bring them back to the fun family times of hunting mushrooms together, the bliss of eating them, and all the beloved memories which accompanied those precious times.

As for the morels themselves, they are exquisite! Any mushroom hunter knows the cleaning process with wild mushrooms. The morels are so unbelievably clean. Even with the rinses we maybe find a couple of wee bugs holding on but I've never found more than 2 or 3 in a pound of mushrooms. It's unbelievable! If you hunt morels you know how unique this is. You also have the safety and security if you are not familiar with mushrooms that you are receiving safe morels as opposed to toxic false morels.

They are wonderfully sized, in great shape, packaged securely with appropriate air flow to maintain freshness, shipped perfectly, on time, and an all around fabulous product for an extremely reasonable price.

Ive been ordering for 10 years and I have no intention of stopping. The transactions are always super easy, and due to where they harvest the morels, there's a fairly long season of availability. And the joy of blondes or black mushrooms to pick from! Double Yum!

Christina also educated me on how to freeze the delectable morels for later use on one of my calls to order! I had no idea. My last order of the season I usually get a bit more so I can freeze some for later use.

I routinely make a roast chicken with these mushrooms. My first experience with morels in France where I ate sweetbreads with a delicious creamy morel sauce. I try to approximate that sauce with butter, white wine, shallots, creme fraiche, and heavy cream. Sweetbreads are difficult to acquire here. Chickens are plentiful. I’m happy with my transaction and will be ordering more in the future. One important item to note:
If you are ordering sensitive produce, you will need to be at your home/office to pick up the package

I use dried porcini mushrooms in a sauerkraut recipe that I make. The mushrooms that I have purchased in the past are generally of average to poor quality and I suspect come mostly from Asia. I have been looking for a USA source of dried porcini mushrooms and recently purchased from your Oregon mushrooms website. I tried your porcini mushrooms in my Kraut recipe today and your mushrooms are of outstanding quality, and hands down the best source I have found for USA grown porcini mushrooms. It’s the chanterelles not morels that we love the flavor of. We make a lot of homemade pizza for friends in our wood burning pizza oven. There’s nothing more flavorful than wild chanterelles on pizza. This week we will be using some in the piemontese sauce over homemade raviolis with guidance from our favorite cookbook, “Harry’s Bar.” In Venice that was the Aga Khan’s favorite meal at Harry’s Bar restaurant. They use morels but we’ve tried both and prefer the chanterelles. Terrie

wonderful experience with your mushrooms Hi again,I received my mushroom shipment yesterday and began making dishes from them today. I had some close friends over and cooked the black trumpet and chanterelle mushrooms in a cream sauce with shaved oregon black truffles. It was beautiful.The biggest surprise, even to me, was a consomme I made with the trimmings and small specimens of the chanterelle, black trumpet, and a heaping dose of the nameko mushrooms, I seasoned the stock nicely, but the shock was the richness of the consomme, mainly due to the nameko mushrooms. I've had no previous experience of them but am now glad to have them in my repertoire, thanks to you. I would never in life have seen them here where I live. They gave the consomme a richness I would compare with veal stock, though it is a vegetarian dish. My eyes have been opened. Thank you so much.John

The mushrooms, however, were beautiful! I prepped them all, using some 
of the chanterelles in a pasta primavera (ala carbonata), along with 
some of the asparagus and some peas. Totally delicious. What I haven't 
used, I've frozen (after the appropriate preparation, of course). The 
black morels were huge and smelled wonderful. I didn't find any 
critters, but cleaned them as you recommended before prepping. I'll 
definitely be back for more mushrooms!!! Suzanne

This was a shoot I was styling for, so I had to find the best of the best,
and that's why I come to you guys.
I've purchased from Mikuni in the past and received extremely wormy
(inedible) mushrooms. I'm a forager myself, so I know bugs and worms are
some of the "free protein" that comes with mushrooms. But these were so
bad there was nearly nothing left of the interior of the mushrooms.
I know your prices are better, and customer service is better than Mikuni.

I and friends and family are enjoying the mushrooms you sent. The Matsutake are absolutely beautiful, and add a subtle dimension to many of the dishes I'm preparing for people. The King Trumpet mushrooms are turning out to be a shock to many people I know - I'm surprised, but they've never had them before. So,I'm glad that their first experience with them has been with the perfectly fresh ones you sent me, rather
than the less fresh ones available at an oriental store a county away from here. I've sautéed them, and grilled them over charcoal, and their flavor and texture are perfect. Likewise the Chanterelles. I did a Rissotto with a combination of Chanterelles, Lobster,and a touch of Matsutake, and served sautéed chanterelles on the side. It was spectacular I was happy with the lobsters I could incorporate into dishes. I really did enjoy the ones that were fresh enough to cook. We recommend that when you receive your package that you open all paper bags soonest, briefly examine all pieces, separate or cut out pieces with insects, and return the good pieces to the box and the refrigerator.

I recently received our second shipment of dried Miatake Mushrooms from
you. We are delighted with the service and quality of the product.We put the dry pieces, broken up into penny sized chunks in with the water in a rice cooker with brown rice and when the rice is done, the mushrooms are also fully hydrated and cooked. The rice also absorbs the water so all the goodness from the mushrooms is preserved. The rice is so much more tasty and nutritious, cooked with mushrooms in this way Best Regards, Margaret

The box was damaged when they arrived but product was okay. Mushrooms as are stated and extremely nice, good assortment of size from large, average and small. Fresh when arrived and on time. Seems the shrooms aren't as big as last year... lots of super cute tiny babies that made me want to paint one in shellac and make a little rock garden like I did as a child. I received my order today of the dried morels. 
Soaked about an hour (only about 1/3 of the bag).  I was amazed at how big they 
were dry and then even bigger once rehydrated.  Fried them up and we have been 
snacking on them all afternoon.  No sooner than the box was delivered I had them 
open & soaking, we couldn't wait!  
Sent pics to my mom of before and after and she was super jealous that she asked 
where I got them.  I think she is online ordering some now, haha.
My hubby was pleased too with his 1st experience of morels.
 
We will definitely be ordering more in the future.  And I'm going to share the pics 
on Facebook too, maybe I can make some of my friends jealous too.

I sent it the next day after I received our 12 lb shipment. I like your new boxes, you could still cut a few more slots in there, and was surprised to receive the mushrooms bagged rather than bulk. The delivery by noon here in Bristol, Tn really killed the heat. They were warm, but not HOT. In the past, even with coolant, they were HOT. My two pounds had a couple small ones that weren’t great. But of my fellow purchasers,all loved them, and one guy always buys 4 lbs. We will order another 12lbs next week. Thank-you Jay (it is normal for the mushrooms to get warm in transit due to the fact that mushrooms create their own heat. We do our absolute best to keep them cool in route, but they will be warm when you get them. This does not hurt them because they are so fresh. You cannot insulate most mushrooms because they need air circulation or they will rot in transit. )

However, they are beautiful , just beautiful and I will definitely order again. We are having some tonight for dinner and can't wait to taste those wonderful "big" Shrooms!

(note from us-it is normal for the ice packs to thaw, they keep the mushrooms cold enough in transit that when they do defrost it does not hurt the mushrooms, we cannot insulate mushrooms because they go bad. Our mushrooms are so fresh that even when they get warm they are still in great fresh condition. During the hot months this is unavoidable. Just put them in the refrigerator as soon as you get them)

OMG!!! Magically wonderful, beautiful,Lovely, Tasty fresh Morel mushrooms showed up at door this morning behind the startlingly loud knock of FedEx. I opened the box, opened all the bags and stuck my nose in for a smell and it was all about the earth, I could almost smell the mountains of the great north west from which they grew, beautiful. What away to start a day. So, I cleaned a bunch of those shrooms,put a little S&P on them and fried them in butter and olive oil *what a treat*plain and simple, pure. A glorious breakfast I have to say. A dream come true.

Hi Christina, I want to thank you for the shipment of mushrooms. They arrived in
excellent condition on Tuesday morning, but the paper bags were moist so
I re-bagged them. A friend of mine had his birthday on Wednesday, so I invited him and another friend for lunch and made braised mushrooms and a grilled veal roast with a truffle cream sauce. They were blown away. There's really nothing like fresh wild mushrooms! Tomorrow morning we're making an omelet with truffles, black trumpet and morel mushrooms (they'll finish the morels). I'll freeze a couple of truffles to use at a wine tasting we're hosting on the 16th, and make a mushroom soup with the rest.I can't tell you how happy I am that I discovered your website! Hi Chris and Scott, I just wanted to send a quick note of appreciation for your DELICIOUS fresh morels. My dad who lives in PA ordered some from you for the first time a couple weeks ago. He had always ordered them from a place in Wisconsin,but this year his shipment from there was way below average. Many of them were small, broken, or just no good. Yours, on the other hand, were plump, plentiful, and full of flavor. I live in Oregon and found your website last year when looking for Christmas stuff, and got my dad a gift certificate from you. I got the chance to fly home to Pittsburgh last week with my husband and it just so happened to be the time that my dad purchased your morels...so we had a "mushroom party" (my dad lightly breads the morels in cracker meal, fries them, and sprinkles them with some popcorn salt, garlic and onion powder). The whole family enjoyed them. I miss those tasty morels already!

I am just curious about how long your morel season usually lasts? Do you keep picking them through June?

NAMEKO MUSHROOMS

Hi again,I received my mushroom shipment yesterday and began making dishes from them today. I had some close friends over and cooked the black trumpet and chanterelle mushrooms in a cream sauce with shaved black truffles. It was beautiful.The biggest surprise, even to me, was a consomme I made with the trimmings and small specimens of the chanterelle, black trumpet, and a heaping dose of the nameko mushrooms, I seasoned the stock nicely, but the shock was the richness of the consomme, mainly due to the nameko mushrooms. I've had no previous experience of them but am now glad to have them in my repertoire, thanks to you. I would never in life have seen them here where I live. They gave the consomme a richness I would compare with veal stock, though it is a vegetarian dish. My eyes have been opened. Thank you so much.John

I was so pleased with the latest order. Your dried domestic porcini are so much better than some of the “dark dust” offered as European porcini. Last year while in Geneva, I sought out Italian porcini and was aghast to see that the mushrooms were actually grown in China! No thanks! This will be somewhat of an unusual review, but,In 1978 (I was 15 1/2) my family moved from Northern IN, to Central Arkansas and we haven't had a morel mushroom since!I bought these on a whim for my mother and I, as many months ago we were thinking about the simplier days of our youth and mushroom hunting was a part of all of our lives.

The chanterelles are lovely, the morels smell wonderful (ascent that I personally think is better than truffles), but it's the porcinis that have really blown me away. I expected small pieces and badly sliced caps, but these are all a great size and obviously very carefully sliced and dried. Our truffle shipment Dear Scott, Our truffle shipment arrived on Wednesday and we used them on Thanksgiving the following day. The white truffle was in superb condition and we served it shaved atop freshly made tangherlini pasta tossed with a light browned butter and Reggiano parmesan. We have had a home in Italian speaking Switzerland for many years, about 15 minutes from Italy and I will tell you that we have not ever had better white truffles in Italy than the one you sent us here. Unfortunately, we were not so lucky with one of the two black truffles. It had started to go over and little more half of it gave off the odor of ammonia rather than the wonderful smell of truffle. I managed to save the day with careful trimming and the black truffle slices were carefully slid under the skin of a large young free range chicken along with a generous quantity of truffle butter . The resulting roast chicken made for a fine Thanksgiving dinner despite the loss of part of the featured truffles. Perhaps you would credit us back something on our next order? A few weeks before Christmas I decided to make a Pork Loin with Morel Stuffing and Morel Sauce for Christmas dinner(Epicurious.com) - all of the feedback on their website raved and raved about the roast. I couldn't find morels in my local markets, but several cooks who had responded recommended eBay so I tried there and, after comparing several sellers, selected Oregon Mushrooms

Here's where the "human" touch comes in...I ordered my mushrooms, only to have my computer crash! I had no PayPal, no anything. The next day I emailed Christina from my office explaining my problem...told her I'd have to send a personal check (please save my morels!) and I'd wait for it to clear. She was darling and assured me that all was ok...a week later my mushrooms arrived...absolutely beautiful and delicious! ...and the pork roast was to DIE for - try it!

This was the first time I tried dried matsutake mushrooms. They are hard to find fresh and impossible to find dried....and always expensive. Matsutake is used frequently to flavor sophisticated Japanese soup and rice dishes. These mushrooms were great in imparting excellent aroma and flavor equivalent to fresh matsutake. I've enjoyed the dried morel mushrooms and I think they are a good buy, I'll get more when I run out. I use them indemi-glaci (a french mother sauce). I just pop them in dry and in 15-20 minutes on low heat they're rehydrated and tender. I can't wait to get the fresh morells in season - please email me when I can get some. Can’t remember how many times I’ve ordered mushrooms from your website. The quality is always beyond expectation. Love the freshness and texture of the porcini. I will order again.

It’s the chanterelles not morels that we love the flavor of. We make a lot of homemade pizza for friends in our wood burning pizza oven. There’s nothing more flavorful than wild chanterelles on pizza. This week we will be using some in the pie montese sauce over homemade raviolis with guidance from our favorite cookbook, “Harry’s Bar.” In Venice that was the Aga Khan’s favorite meal at Harry’s Bar restaurant. They use morels but we’ve tried both and prefer the chanterelles. Terrie

Hi again,I received my mushroom shipment yesterday and began making dishes from them today. I had some close friends over and cooked the black trumpet and chanterelle mushrooms in a cream sauce with shaved black truffles. It was beautiful. The biggest surprise, even to me, was a consomme I made with the trimmings and small specimens of the chanterelle, black trumpet, and a heaping dose of the nameko mushrooms, I seasoned the stock nicely, but the shock was the richness of the consomme, mainly due to the nameko mushrooms. I've had no previous experience of them but am now glad to have them in my repertoire, thanks to you. I would never in life have seen them here where I live. They gave the consomme a richness I would compare with veal stock, though it is a vegetarian dish. My eyes have been opened. Thank you so much.John

I and friends and family are enjoying the mushrooms you sent. The Matsutake are absolutely beautiful, and add a subtle dimension to many of the dishes I'm preparing for people. The King Trumpet mushrooms are turning out to be a shock to many people I know - I'm surprised, but they've never had them before. So, I'm glad that their first experience with them has been with the perfectly fresh ones you sent me, rather
than the less fresh ones available at an oriental store a county away fromhere. I've sautéed them, and grilled them over charcoal, and their flavorand texture are perfect. Likewise the Chanterelles. Idid a Rissotto with a combination of Chanterelles, Lobster,and a touch of Matsutake, and served sautéed chanterelles on the side. It was spectacular I was happy with the lobsters I could incorporate into dishes. I really did enjoy the ones that were fresh enough to cook. I sent it the next day after I received our 12 lb shipment. I like your new boxes, you could still cut a few more slots in there, and was surprised to receive the mushrooms bagged rather than bulk. The delivery by noon here in Bristol, Tn really killed the heat. They were warm, but not HOT. In the past, even with coolant, they were HOT. My two pounds had a couple small ones that weren’t great. But of my fellow purchasers, all loved them, and one guy always buys 4 lbs. We will order another 12lbs next week. Thank-you Jay (it is normal for the mushrooms to get warm in transit due to the fact that mushrooms create their own heat. We do our absolute best to keep them cool in route, but they will be warm when you get them. This does not hurt them because they are so fresh. You cannot insulate most mushrooms because they need air circulation or they will rot in transit. )

I received my WONDERFUL MOREL MUSHROOMS today and they arrived in beautiful condition other than being a little warm. There was only one ice pack in the box and it had completely thawed by the time the driver got here, around 2:30 pm.
However, they are beautiful , just beautiful and I will definitely order again. We are having some tonight for dinner and can't wait to taste those wonderful "big" Shrooms!

OMG!!! Magically wonderful, beautiful,Lovely, Tasty fresh Morel mushrooms showed up at door this morning behind the startlingly loud knock of FedEx. I opened the box, opened all the bags and stuck my nose in for a smell and it was all about the earth, I could almost smell the mountains of the great north west from which they grew, beautiful. What away to start a day. So, I cleaned a bunch of those shrooms, put a little S&P on them and fried them in butter and olive oil *what a treat*plain and simple, pure. A glorious breakfast I have to say. A dream come true.

Hi Christina, I want to thank you for the shipment of mushrooms. They arrived in
excellent condition on Tuesday morning, but the paper bags were moist so
I re-bagged them. A friend of mine had his birthday on Wednesday, so I invited him and another friend for lunch and made braised mushrooms and a grilled veal roast with a truffle cream sauce. They were blown away. There's really nothing like fresh wild mushrooms! Tomorrow morning we're makingan omelet with truffles, black trumpet and morel mushrooms (that'll finish the morels). I'll freeze a couple of truffles to use at a wine tasting we're hosting on the 16th, and make a mushroom soup with the rest.I can't tell you how happy I am that I discovered your web site! I bought some of your dried mushroom mushroom mix and some dried morels last week for a dinner party I was hosting. Boy what ahit! The mushroom mix reconstituted perfectly and held up to a nice slow cook with some chicken broth and sherry. And the Morels were agreat addition to a foie gras stuffing for roast chicken. Hi Chris and Scott, I just wanted to send a quick note of appreciation for your DELICIOUS fresh morels. My dad who lives in PA ordered some from you for the first time acouple weeks ago. He had always ordered them from a place in Wisconsin, but this year his shipment from there was way below average. Many of them were small, broken, or just no good. Yours, on the other hand, were plump, plentiful, and full of flavor. I live in Oregon and found yourwebsite last year when looking for Christmas stuff, and got my dad a gift certificate from you. I got the chance to fly home to Pittsburgh last week with my husband and it just so happened to be the time that my dad purchased your morels...so we had a "mushroom party" (my dad lightly breads the morels in cracker meal, fries them, and sprinkles them with some popcorn salt, garlic and onion powder). The whole familiy enjoyed them. I miss those tasty morels already!

I am just curious about how long your morel season usually lasts? Do you keep picking them through June?

NAMEKO MUSHROOMS

Hi again,I received my mushroom shipment yesterday and began making dishes from them today. I had some close friends over and cooked the black trumpet and chanterelle mushrooms in a cream sauce with shaved black truffles. It was beautiful. The biggest surprise, even to me, was a consomme I made with the trimmings and small specimens of the chanterelle, black trumpet, and a heaping dose of the nameko mushrooms, I seasoned the stock nicely, but the shock was the richness of the consomme, mainly due to the nameko mushrooms. I've had no previous experience of them but am now glad to have them in my repertoire, thanks to you. I would never in life have seen them here where I live. They gave the consomme a richness I would compare with veal stock, though it is a vegetarian dish. My eyes have been opened. Thank you so much.John

Hello and thank you for the coupon! I cooked my first batch last night. What an amazing treat.

I sauteed some garlic cloves in olive oil and once the pan was good and hot I added the mushrooms and cooked them until they were a golden brown.

Right before I removed them from the pan I hit them with a splash of dry white wine, I let that cook off for a minute and then added a teaspoon or so of Herbes de Provence. That was dinner.

These are fantastic and I'm glad I was able to find your company. I used to be able to get them from the farm at Urban Oaks in New Britain, Ct but they no longer carry them and I never see these in grocery stores.

I was so pleased with the latest order. Your dried domestic porcini are so much better than some of the “dark dust” offered as European porcini. Last year while in Geneva, I sought out Italian porcini and was aghast to see that the mushrooms were actually grown in China! No thanks! This will be somewhat of an unusual review, but,In 1978 (I was 15 1/2) my family moved from Northern IN, to Central Arkansas and we haven't had a morel mushroom since! I am more than happy to recommend this website for wonderful mushrooms. I have only purchased the morels, but they were perfect and wonderful.
A few weeks before Christmas I decided to make a Pork Loin with Morel Stuffing and Morel Sauce for Christmas dinner(Epicurious.com) - all of the feedback on their website raved and raved about the roast. I couldn't find morels in my local markets, but several cooks who had responded recommended Ebay so I tried there and, after comparing several sellers, selected Oregon Mushrooms.
Here's where the "human" touch comes in...I ordered my mushrooms, only to have my computer crash! I had no Paypal, no anything. The next day I emailed Christina from my office explaining my problem...told her I'd have to send a personal check (please save my morels!) and I'd wait for it to clear. She was darling and assured me that all was ok...a week later my mushrooms arrived...absolutely beautiful and delicious! ...and the pork roast was to DIE for - try it!

I've enjoyed the dried morel mushrooms and I think they are a good buy, I'll get more when I run out. I use them in demi-glaci (a french mother sauce). I just pop them in dry and in 15-20 minutes on low heat they're rehydrated and tender. I can't wait to get the fresh morels in season - please email me when I can get some. My 2nd order just arrived and I can smell the delicious aroma of imported Italian Porcini coming through the packaging.

You are a true culinary find! I have sampled your fresh and your frozen and they have NOT left me wanting. I have over 25years experience in food service so I have a clue. You all are the real deal & when you think of the expense of eating out or trying to find specialty items in the high ticket stores like Whole Foods, Sprout's, or Lunardi's your prices including shipping are very reasonable. Your availability and selection of fresh or frozen is great. When fresh aren't available there's frozen and a frozen Italian Porcinis light years ahead of a fresh button or Crimini. Your fresh Oregon shrooms and truffles are also fresh and delicious.
The bottom line is "high quality, great value,& great service". I spoke to you yesterday...my Porcini's are here today & I will enjoy them tonite!

Truffle salt … I use it on everything except the rim of my Margarita glass. Best on poached eggs with your Trumpet mushrooms. No one should be without this great addition to their pantry.
