Porcini Sauce

Ingredients:

  • 1 oz dried porcini mushrooms
  • 1/3 of an onion
  • Salt
  • Pepper corns
  • Bay leaf
  • 2 tablespoons sour cream
  • 1-2 spoons of flour (optional, for thickening)

Instructions:

  1. Break up dried porcini into small pieces and soak for 20-30 minutes.
  2. Saute the onion.
  3. Add salt, pepper corns, and bay leaf.
  4. Boil the mushroom mixture for 20 minutes or so.
  5. Add two tablespoons of sour cream about 5 minutes before completion.
  6. Add a spoon or two of flour if the sauce is too liquid.
